Hawkins Family Crest
This song was evidently made in celebration of a wedding. There was a family named Hawkes living at Skehigny, Co. Roscommon, and Arthur O'Neill mentions in his memoirs that he visited a Parson Hawkes at Skreen, Co. Sligo. ...Dónal O'Sullivan 2001 1 vol. edition p. 244.
