The lady of this poem may be presumed to be a member of the Athenry family,
but in the absence of the lady's Christian name and other particulars it has
not been possible to identify her. Bunting printed this tune as two separate
pieces, the first with the title Madam Birmingham and the latter as Planxty
Birmingham, the latter being a jig. But it is clear from the manuscript
that they form one piece.
