Waller Family Crest
The subject may be Robert Waller, of Rochwood, in the parish of Athleague, Co. Roscommon. He was born in 1701, married a Miss Jane Ormsby, and was High Sheriff of the county in 1747. These Wallers came to Ireland from Hertfordshire in the time of Charles I. They were the same family as Edmund Waller, whose 'go, lovely rose' is one of the glories of English lyrical poetry.
