Giolla Dubh an Gluairetáin - The Dark Plaintive Youth
There are three stanzas to this song in the Royal Irish Academy entitled
Giolla Dubh an Gluairetáin meaning The Dark Plaintive Youth
It suits the air, and these are clearly the appropriate words
This is a Jacobite song, and begins "Cia fada dhamh a n-uaigneas,
is buaidheartha tá m'intinn," sc. "Though long I am in solitude,
troubled is my mind."
